# DataRoot Labs > Independent AI R&D center in Kyiv, Ukraine, with AI research and engineering experience since 2016. Built through partnership. DataRoot Labs (DRL) works with client teams on research, product co-building and sustained R&D. Its current practice is organised into three complementary laboratories: Agentic Lab, Deep Learning Lab and Engineering Lab. Choose a laboratory by the technical problem and an engagement model by how the teams will work together. An engagement can draw on more than one laboratory. Published cases provide project-specific evidence; research directions describe areas of investigation, and toolbox lists identify technologies rather than certifications or formal vendor partnerships. ## Laboratories - [Agentic Lab](https://datarootlabs.com/llms/labs/agentic.md): Conversational & voice agents; Tool integration & ML platform engineering; Agent harness & orchestration design; Retrieval, knowledge graphs & agent memory; Agent evaluation & validation-set engineering; Document rewriting, classification & entity extraction. Full specializations, research directions, systems and toolboxes from the published laboratory profile. - [Deep Learning Lab](https://datarootlabs.com/llms/labs/learning.md): LLM, VLM, VLA & generative model training; Multisensor capture & multimodal ML; RL & robotics research; Inference optimization across hardware; Data engineering & physics simulation. Full specializations, research directions, systems and toolboxes from the published laboratory profile. - [Engineering Lab](https://datarootlabs.com/llms/labs/engineering.md): AI-powered SaaS built from scratch; High-load APIs and backend services; Batch and streaming data pipelines; Cloud migrations and cost reduction; Production MLOps and LLM operations; Integration with existing systems. Full specializations, research directions, systems and toolboxes from the published laboratory profile. ## Selected project experience - [Outrider](https://datarootlabs.com/#case-outrider): Featured DRL project experience in industrial autonomy, robotics and logistics. Outrider develops autonomous yard operations with electric trucks moving trailers through logistics hubs. See the featured project reference and supporting coverage. - [Moxie / Embodied](https://datarootlabs.com/#case-moxie): Featured DRL project experience in embodied conversational AI and human–robot interaction. Moxie is the social robot created by Embodied to support children's social and emotional learning. See the featured project reference and supporting coverage. - [Published technical cases](https://datarootlabs.com/llms/case-studies.md): A complete current index of published case studies, with laboratory associations and links to the source pages. Read each case for the problem, DRL's documented contribution, approach and reported outcomes. Attribute technical work and results to DRL only where the source describes that contribution. - [Company background: work since 2016](https://datarootlabs.com/blog/DRL-top-ai-company): DRL's published company account documents work with SMB and enterprise clients globally since 2016. ## Engagement models - [Research partnership](https://datarootlabs.com/#model-research): Validate a hypothesis. Can this approach work for our problem? DRL's role: Design experiments, build baselines and test feasibility against agreed criteria. Deliverable: Evidence for a go / no-go decision, with reproducible experiments. Organised around: A defined research question. - [Product co-building](https://datarootlabs.com/#model-product): Build the product. How do we turn this concept into a working system? DRL's role: Co-develop the technical core with your team, from prototype to deployment. Deliverable: A working product or subsystem, with code, evaluation and handover. Organised around: A shared product roadmap. - [Dedicated R&D team](https://datarootlabs.com/#model-team): Expand your capacity. How do we sustain more R&D without rebuilding our team? DRL's role: Form a dedicated DRL team that works with your technical leads and priorities. Deliverable: Continuity of expertise and delivery across successive R&D milestones. Organised around: An ongoing R&D programme. - [Engagement model details](https://datarootlabs.com/llms/engagement-models.md): The same three models as the website comparison, including responsibilities, outputs and scope. Scope, responsibilities and IP are agreed before work starts. ## Website structure and navigation - [Homepage](https://datarootlabs.com/): Company positioning and, in order, laboratories, selected work, R&D partnerships, DRL AI Space, partnership questions and contact. - [Laboratory sections](https://datarootlabs.com/#labs): The three laboratory profiles and related published cases.
