- [The “Romeo Bassoli” Prize 2026 goes to Daniele Moretti and AFP\.](https://www.cmcc.it/article/the-romeo-bassoli-prize-2026-goes-to-sky-tg24-and-afp): Public trust, the preparation of those who report on climate, and the legacy of Romeo Bassoli, who brought science into the news: these were the themes that emerged in Lecce at the presentation of the CMCC Prize 2026, which for the first time looks beyond Italy’s borders\.
- [The hidden global market behind recycling](https://www.cmcc.it/article/the-hidden-global-market-behind-recycling): Around 170–200 million tonnes of recyclable waste have crossed borders each year since 2010 with 10–13% of EU packaging recycling taking place outside the bloc between 2018 and 2021\. A new CMCC study shows how mismatches between the materials countries need and the waste they generate help drive this trade – and why recycling policies can sometimes end up encouraging exports instead of domestic recycling\.
