# Capacity

> Capacity (capacity.so) is an AI app builder for people who don't code. You describe your idea in plain words and Capacity builds a working web or mobile app and puts it online, on your own domain if you want. You can build in the Capacity app with its built-in agent, or from Claude or ChatGPT through the Capacity connector. Capacity Desktop is a separate macOS and Windows app that builds on your own computer with your own AI subscription.

## Who it is for

- Founders, freelancers and small businesses with an app or website idea and no coding experience, or anyone who would otherwise hire a developer.
- Websites and client-side apps are built with React, Tailwind and shadcn/ui; full-stack apps add a server and their own database. User login is added with the Clerk extension or a Supabase connection.
- Native mobile apps: Expo projects that you submit to TestFlight and Google Play from the publish dialog, with your own store accounts.
- You choose the AI model (Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Sonnet 5.5, Fable 5.1, Mistral Large 4, Kimi K3) or leave it on Auto.
- Every change is saved as a version you can restore. Your app gets a preview URL and can be published to your own domain.
- On every paid plan your full code downloads as a zip. Pushing it to your own GitHub is a Capacity Desktop feature.

## Build in Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral

- [Capacity for Claude](https://capacity.so/claude): add Capacity as a custom connector in Claude (web or desktop app, Settings > Connectors) and ask Claude to build an app. Claude writes the code on your Claude subscription; Capacity builds, previews, hosts and publishes it.
- [Capacity for ChatGPT](https://capacity.so/chatgpt): the same connector in ChatGPT (Settings > Apps & Connectors). Until Capacity is listed in the ChatGPT app directory, adding it requires ChatGPT's developer mode.
- [Capacity for Mistral](https://capacity.so/mistral): the same connector in Mistral's assistant (Le Chat, now Vibe); your Mistral plan does the building.
- The connector is an MCP server at https://api.capacity.so/mcp. Building from Claude or ChatGPT never uses Capacity credits and is unlimited on every paid plan. Apps built there show up in the Capacity dashboard with their full version history. Claude Code or Cursor can connect with an API key created in Capacity's Settings > Connectors.

- You plug in your own AI accounts (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Kimi and more) and pay your provider directly. Your code lives on your computer and is pushed to your own GitHub and Vercel.
- 80+ designer templates, a live preview, one-click publish and one-click restore of any earlier version.
- Free plan: one project with the full builder. Lifetime license: $249 one-time, for unlimited projects, desktop app templates, complete-app templates (CRM, analytics, link-in-bio) and custom domains.

## Clone a website

- [Clone Website AI](https://capacity.so/clone-website-ai): paste the URL of one public https page; Capacity screenshots it at 1280 px, reads its text, images and computed styles, and rebuilds it as a React and Tailwind project in about 10 minutes (Claude Sonnet 5.5 by default). It doesn't crawl the rest of the site. Needs a paid plan and at least 5 credits; a test clone of cal.com came to about 14 credits. Only for pages you have the right to copy.
