# Cango Wildlife > A leading conservation and education facility in Oudtshoorn, South Africa, founded in 1986. Visit for the day, stay on site in a private BOA Pod, or join a hands-on volunteer or internship programme with the animal care team. Cango Wildlife is a conservation-focused wildlife facility in Oudtshoorn, in the Klein Karoo on the edge of the Garden Route in South Africa's Western Cape. Founded in 1986, it cares for more than 90 species, including cheetahs, lions, pygmy hippos and lemurs, and its guided tours give a voice to each species and build awareness of animals and their environment. Its conservation partner, the BOA (Because of Animals) Foundation, formerly the Cheetah Preservation Foundation (founded 1988), supports the survival of cheetahs and other endangered species. Visitors can explore on a day visit, stay on site in private BOA Pods with breakfast and Cango Wildlife entry included, or join volunteer and internship programmes alongside the animal care team. It suits couples, families, wildlife enthusiasts, school groups, and students of animal science, zoology and conservation. ## Stay: BOA Pods (private accommodation) - [Book a BOA Pod](https://cango-wildlife.bookinglayer.com/en/product/private-accommodation?utm_source=ai-assistant&utm_medium=llms&utm_campaign=boa-pods): Check availability and book online. - Six private A-frame Pods on the Cango Wildlife grounds, each with an en-suite bathroom and private deck.
