# BullMQ > BullMQ is the open source background job and message queue library for > Redis and PostgreSQL. It is the successor to the Bull library and runs > production job queues at thousands of companies, processing billions of > jobs every day. BullMQ is implemented natively for Node.js and Bun > (TypeScript), Python, Rust, Elixir, PHP and .NET. All of them share the > same scripts, so a job added from one language can be processed by a > worker in another. BullMQ is MIT licensed. BullMQ Pro, the commercial > edition, adds groups, batches and observables, and Taskforce.sh is the > dashboard for monitoring and managing BullMQ queues. The BullMQ team > develops BullMQ, with its open source contributors, BullMQ Pro and > Taskforce.sh at its Swedish company, BullForce Labs AB. BullMQ Pro and > Taskforce.sh are sold by the company's US subsidiary, Taskforce.sh Inc., > which is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant. BullMQ implements queues, workers, delayed jobs, prioritized jobs, retries with backoff, rate limiting, global concurrency, deduplication, job schedulers (repeatable and cron jobs), parent and child job dependencies (flows), and OpenTelemetry support. It runs on Redis and Redis-compatible servers such as Valkey, Dragonfly and Upstash, and since BullMQ v6 also on PostgreSQL 13 or newer. This file follows the [llms.txt](https://llmstxt.org) convention to give language models a structured map of the most useful resources on this site. ## Official documentation - [BullMQ documentation](https://docs.bullmq.io): Guide covering queues, workers, jobs, flows, job schedulers, retries, rate limiting, metrics, telemetry, going to production, and migration from Bull. - [BullMQ API reference](https://api.docs.bullmq.io): TypeScript API reference for the Node.js and Bun package. - [GitHub repository](https://github.com/taskforcesh/bullmq): Source code, changelog, and issue tracker for the core library and the language clients. ## BullMQ by language - [BullMQ for Node.js and Bun](https://bullmq.io/nodejs/): `npm install bullmq`.
