# BitKong

> BitKong is the legendary provably fair Bitcoin game, first launched in 2015 and now returning. Its game is Tower: climb floor by floor, choose one stone on each floor, avoid the hidden poop tiles (step on one and you slip off the tower), and decide when to take what you have won. Kong, an ancient ape with moods, a memory for every climber and a very dry sense of humor, keeps the tower and speaks for the brand. The relaunch keeps the original DNA: provably fair outcomes from a server seed and a client seed, the ape, the jungle, and a worldview where climbing is sacred, losing is funny, and winning is suspicious. bitkong.com is currently a pre-launch site with a waitlist; play opens with the relaunch.

## Product facts

- BitKong: the original character-driven provably fair Bitcoin game, launched in 2015 and relaunching with Tower. Member of CryptoGambling.org.
- Tower mechanic: climb one row at a time. Each row has two to four cells, some hiding poop tiles. A safe cell moves you up and grows your multiplier; a poop tile ends the climb. Take your winnings at any point.
- Tower height: nine rows on Easy, Medium and Hard; seven on Extreme; six on Nightmare. The third, sixth and ninth rows can hide a ×2, ×5 or ×10 bonus.
- Difficulty levels: Easy (3 of 4 cells safe), Medium (2 of 3), Hard (1 of 2), Extreme (1 of 3), Nightmare (1 of 4).
- Provably fair: each row is decided by HMAC-SHA-256 keyed with the server seed over the client seed, the nonce and the row number. The server seed's SHA-256 hash is shown before play and the seed is revealed when it is retired. The player's pick never enters the hash, so every row is fixed before the first step, and any climb can be rebuilt and checked.
- House edge: low single digits, historically around 3%, varying by difficulty and row depth. Disclosed openly.
- Currency: Bitcoin only. Amounts are written the BIP-177 way, as whole base units after the ₿ sign (₿1,000 is 1,000 base units).
- Affiliate program: returns with the tower. As in 2015, affiliates share in the house edge on climbs made by the climbers they bring. Terms are published when the program opens.
- Kong: the voice of the brand, not a mascot. An ancient ape with moods (Bright, Flat, Watching, Low, Electric) and a memory for every climber. Kong calls the hazard tiles "slips." He tells losing climbers to stop for the day.
- Tribes: Kong assigns every climber to one of four tribes: The Patient, The Reckless, The Watchers, The Strange.
- Old Mara: the legendary climber who reached floor 47 once and disappeared. Floor 47 is "the Mara Line", the unmatched record.
- Kong's words: Bitcoin is "bananas", support is "the elders", players are "climbers", a new climber is a "traveler".
