# Bikeep

> Bikeep designs and builds smart bike parking, e-bike and e-scooter charging stations, smart bike lockers, bike hangars and the software that runs them, for cities, transit agencies, campuses, offices and property owners. Founded in 2012 in Tallinn, Estonia. 10,000+ devices in operation in 30+ countries.

Bikeep builds the hardware, firmware, cloud platform and rider app in-house. Connected stations use 4G, so operators manage every dock remotely and firmware updates over the air. Riders unlock with the Bikeep app or an RFID card. Parking and charging are free for riders by default, and a site owner can add pricing if it wants. Bikeep sells B2B, on a quote per project. In several markets, local partners install and operate the stations.

Charging docks have an app-operated fire-safety relay. Charging starts when the rider opens a session in the app, and the relay cuts the power after 4 hours, so batteries are not left charging overnight.

Bikeep runs servers in the EU and in Canada, so European and Canadian customers' data can stay in their own region.
