# BarrierBoss Canada — barrierboss.ca > Canadian manufacturer of metal fencing: hog wire panels, corrugated metal privacy fence, > cattle panels, complete fence kits, deck railing, gates and posts. Made in Canada (West > Kelowna, BC). 6-gauge welded steel, fluidized-bed dip coated finishes, 40-year warranty. We manufacture, > we deliver to your property, and our crew unloads. ## How much does a metal fence cost? Unframed hog wire panels start at C$44.99 per panel and framed panels at C$149.99; corrugated metal privacy sheets start at C$28.99. A complete black-frame metal privacy fence kit runs C$519.99 to C$809.99 depending on size and finish. Posts, gates and hardware are priced separately, and delivery is a separate per-zone charge (below). **Price your exact run, including delivery, at https://barrierboss.ca/pages/fence-configurator** — it takes your address and footage and returns a delivered total. ## How much is delivery, and is there a minimum? Delivery is a flat price set by your zone and by which of our two trucks your order needs. There are **two delivery lanes** and **four distance zones**, and the price is the SAME in every zone. **There is no order minimum** — any order value can check out. | zone | provinces | order minimum | Light lane | Heavy lane | |---|---|---|---|---| | 1 Home | British Columbia | none | C$149 flat | C$199 flat | | 2 Near | Alberta | none | C$149 flat | C$199 flat | | 3 Far | Saskatchewan, Manitoba | none | C$149 flat | C$199 flat | **Light lane** is the flat deck: unframed wire panels and loose sheets. **Heavy lane** is the crane truck: framed and assembled panels, gates, kits, posts and zero-maintenance systems. No surcharges, no residential fee, no liftgate fee, no fuel levy. Freight is insured and our own crew unloads onto your property. ## How long does delivery take? Lead time is **production plus transit, counted in business days**. It varies by LANE, not by distance. These are the windows quoted at checkout: | zone | Light lane | Heavy lane | |---|---|---| | every zone | 2–4 weeks | 4–6 weeks | The Heavy lane runs ten business days behind the Light lane in every zone, because those panels are built up before they ship. Canadian public holidays are excluded from the count, so the date you see matches the date checkout commits to. ## What if my order mixes both lanes? An order containing both Light and Heavy items ships as **two deliveries and is charged both lane rates** — C$149 + C$199 = C$348, in every zone. The arrival window spans from the earliest Light date to the latest Heavy date. This is not a surcharge; it is two trucks. ## Where does BarrierBoss deliver? **Four provinces, on our own trucks:** British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We never hand freight to an LTL carrier. We are NOT coast-to-coast and NOT Canada-wide. **New orders are paused** in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island while we catch up on demand; existing orders there are unaffected. **Never served: Newfoundland & Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.** ## What makes BarrierBoss different - Made in Canada, in West Kelowna, BC. We manufacture, deliver and unload. - **6-gauge (4.9 mm) welded wire** — heavier than the 8 or 10 gauge sold by big-box stores. - **Galvanized after welding, then fluidized-bed dip coated.** Most welded panels use pre-galvanized wire, which burns the zinc off at every intersection and leaves bare steel at the welds — the first place a panel rusts. - Finishes in black, brown, silver and green, plus uncoated Corten weathering steel; marine-grade 316 stainless available for coastal BC builds. - Corrugated privacy panels: 26-gauge steel, 7/8" wave, HDP paint the same colour both sides, five heights (38"x45" to 38"x93"), 40-year rust/fade warranty. - FireSmart-relevant options: full-metal zero-maintenance fence systems (non-combustible). ## Hog wire or corrugated — which should I choose? Hog wire keeps the view and lets air through, so it carries far less wind load and suits property lines, decks and garden runs. Corrugated and ribbed panels are solid, so they give full privacy and block wind. Both use the same posts and the same footings, so the choice is about sightlines, not structure. ## Key pages - Fence cost calculator: /pages/fence-configurator - Hog wire fencing: /collections/hog-fencing - Cattle panels: /collections/cattle-panel-fencing - Metal privacy fence: /collections/metal-fencing - Complete fence kits: /products/black-frame-metal-privacy-fence-kit - Shipping, rates and lead times: /pages/shipping-returns ## Sister store USA: https://barrierbossusa.com (separate store, USD pricing, serving 46 contiguous states plus Washington DC). ## Specifications — posts, panels, materials Posts. True 4" x 4" and 5" x 5" steel, 3 mm wall, Q235B low-carbon steel (minimum yield about 235 MPa). Zinc coating is applied asymmetrically: about 100 g/m2 on the outside face, the one in contact with soil, and about 50 g/m2 inside, for roughly 150 g/m2 total. U-channels and frames are 2 mm, same material, carrying over 100 g/m2 total across both faces. Posts are set IN THE GROUND in concrete with 3 ft of embedment: a 6 ft fence takes 9 ft posts, an 8 ft fence takes 12 ft posts. Post lengths sold are 6 ft, 9 ft and 12 ft. Bending capacity is 78.6 kip-in for the 4x4 and 125.0 kip-in for the 5x5, roughly 1.5 and 2.4 times a 3" x 3" 12-gauge post. Wind. We publish no wind-speed rating. Wind performance is a property of the whole system — footing, panel, fastening and site exposure — not of the post alone, and we hold no third-party test for it. Open hog wire mesh carries far less wind load than a solid privacy panel at the same wind speed, because air passes through it rather than loading the panel. Post spacing. Set by panel width. Panels come 4, 6, 8 and 12 ft wide, so posts land on those centres. Choose the panel width first and the post layout follows. Panel sizes. Hog wire 3 to 8 ft tall; corrugated privacy and ribbed 4 to 8 ft tall. Panel widths 6 ft and 8 ft. Hog wire mesh openings: 4" x 4", 2" x 2", 1" x 1" and 2" x 6", all 6-gauge welded steel (4.9 mm). Corrugated and ribbed panels are 26-gauge steel. Panel weight. Between 11.5 and 287 lb depending on size and frame. Unloading. No forklift and no equipment needed at your end. Our own crew delivers and unloads onto your property. Who it suits. Homeowners and contractors who want a metal fence that does not rot, warp or need staining, delivered ready to install. Hog wire where you want to keep the view and airflow; corrugated or ribbed where you want full privacy. Not a fit if you are outside our delivery map, or if you need a certified wind rating for a permit — for that you need a site-specific engineer's letter, which we do not supply.
