# AskFRED > AskFRED is the registration and results platform for Olympic-style fencing > tournaments in North America. Tournament organizers post events, fencers > register and pay, and results are published after each competition. Tournament, event, and result data is available through two read-only programmatic interfaces. Fetching HTML pages is rate limited for automated clients; these return structured data and are built for that use. Both take a bearer token in the `Authorization` header — an AskFRED API token from account settings, or an OAuth 2.0 access token. Both are read-only: no tool or endpoint can register, pay, message, or modify anything. ## Programmatic access - [MCP server](https://www.askfred.net/developers/mcp): a remote Model Context Protocol server at `https://www.askfred.net/mcp`, Streamable HTTP, POST only. Search tournaments, list events, and read the signed-in fencer's own registrations and bouts. Currently in beta. - [REST API](https://www.askfred.net/developers/api): the same read surface over HTTP at `https://www.askfred.net/api/v1`. ## Site - [Tournament search](https://www.askfred.net/tournaments): upcoming and past tournaments, filterable by date, weapon, and location. - [Results](https://www.askfred.net/results): published tournament results. - [Clubs](https://www.askfred.net/clubs): directory of fencing clubs. - [Guides](https://www.askfred.net/guides): how registration, ratings, and seeding work in North American fencing. ## Optional - [About](https://www.askfred.net/about): what AskFRED is and who runs it. - [News](https://www.askfred.net/news): announcements and release notes.
