> Archetype is an early-stage crypto venture firm investing in the programmable internet.

The team backs founders building the layer where money, state, and signatures move across the internet with less human in the loop and human oversight still intact. Stablecoins, prediction markets, on-chain payments, agentic commerce: different use cases, same underlying shift toward programmability. Archetype writes first checks at pre-seed and seed, and works with founders from incorporation through Series A.

## What we invest in

The firm focuses on crypto and the places it touches the rest of software. Active categories:

- Crypto and AI: agent-native protocols, verifiable compute, the rails for autonomous economic actors.
- Programmable infrastructure: wallets, signing, policy engines, TEEs, and the building blocks that make on-chain actions composable.
- Agentic payments and stablecoin commerce: x402, MPP rails, agent-native financial primitives, the move from card networks to programmable money.
- Identity and developer tooling: ENS, ERC-8004, infrastructure the next cohort of builders depends on.
- DeFi primitives: exchanges, lending, derivatives, structured products.
- Consumer crypto: wallets, social, games, and the applications that pull the next hundred million users on-chain.

## How we work with founders

Three functions show up in nearly every relationship:

**Research.** Technical diligence and thesis development alongside the founder. Internal research syncs shape the team's view on categories, and partners often co-develop a company's narrative with the founder before launch.

**Community.** The NYC office in SoHo runs as a working venue for developer days, meetups, and video recordings. The team produces [Archebyte](https://www.youtube.com/@archetypevc), the firm's podcast with founders and operators, hosts recurring events including the "Proof in the Pudding" series, and co-hosts gatherings with portfolio companies and protocol partners.

**Go-to-market.** Partners map portfolio synergies concretely: which company can sell to whom, who has the right customer relationships, who can co-market. The firm leans into non-dev customer access (PR firms, crypto-native event teams, enterprise-adjacent networks) for portfolio companies whose buyer isn't a developer.
