AbsenceSoft is purpose-built for employers who administer leave and accommodations in-house, and for the third-party administrators, PEOs, and brokers who administer on their clients' behalf. The AbsenceSoft API is a REST API using OAuth2 authentication over HTTPS, with JSON payloads and standard HTTP verbs. It supports both event-driven webhook sync and scheduled batch sync, and is system-agnostic rather than limited to a fixed partner list — teams can build integrations against any HRIS or HCM, including Workday, UKG, ADP, Paylocity, Oracle, SAP, and Dayforce, subject to those systems' own API capabilities. The API supports bidirectional payroll data flow, variable shift schedules, and intermittent leave patterns. Flat file integrations are available as an alternative to the API.

Full endpoint-level reference documentation is provided to customers through a developer portal after engagement. API access requires an active AbsenceSoft subscription.
