# 0state > Independent development studio founded by Kam Low. AI architecture, open source tools, and systems thinking. 0state builds protocol-level software, real-time systems, and AI infrastructure. 15+ years of production experience spanning C++ networking, WebRTC, and now AI orchestration and MCP development. ## Open Source Projects ### runx Open-source Rust runtime for agent skills. Each act is admitted under explicit authority, execution is supervised, and the result is retained in a signed receipt. Skills compose into graphs while authority narrows through the chain. The local runtime can execute and seal without a hosted account; the catalog and provider connectors are optional hosted complements. Apache-2.0. Modular C++20 toolkit that unifies FFmpeg, libuv, OpenSSL, and libdatachannel into a composable pipeline architecture for building media servers, video pipelines, and real-time communication systems. - WebRTC media transport via libdatachannel (no Google libWebRTC dependency) - FFmpeg capture, encode, decode, record, stream (FFmpeg 5/6/7) - PacketStream pipeline: source -> processor -> sink with backpressure and lifecycle management - symple signalling protocol (WebSocket-based presence, rooms, WebRTC call signalling) - Production-grade RFC 5766 TURN relay server and RFC 5389 STUN - HTTP server/client with WebSocket support (72,000 req/s on a micro VM) - 16 modular components, CMake FetchContent, Linux/macOS/Windows - Native extension surfaces now split cleanly: `pacm` installs, `graft` loads, `sched` handles service maintenance work - Detailed docs: https://github.com/nilstate/icey/blob/main/llms.txt GitHub: https://github.com/nilstate/icey Docs: https://0state.com/icey ### sourcey Static documentation platform for OpenAPI specs, MCP server snapshots, Doxygen XML, Go modules, and rich markdown guides. Produces browser docs plus compact and full-text context exports from the same documentation graph. - Supports OpenAPI 3.0 and 3.1, auto-converts Swagger 2.0 - Supports MCP server documentation from `mcp.json` snapshots - Pipeline: load -> dereference -> convert -> normalise -> render - Shiki syntax highlighting, search, dark mode, synced language tabs, responsive - CLI: `sourcey build spec.yaml -o docs/` GitHub: https://github.com/nilstate/sourcey Docs: https://0state.com/sourcey ### provenry The facts and provenance engine behind Sourcey. It gives the facts you publish a history anyone can verify from the files alone. A product composes it with its own record types, policies, trust roots and adapters; Provenry owns the canonical bytes, the digests and the rules that bind each release to the one before it. - Canonical JSON: every value has exactly one byte form, so a digest means the same thing on every machine - Releases form a chain; verification checks every envelope binding, object ownership and the parent link from the files alone, with no network - Captures are reserved before the fetch, sealed after, and attested with Ed25519 against a signer registry that keeps its history - Identity transitions (merges, splits, successions, retirements) and references bound to an exact revision - Seals every release of Sourcey's public record of software companies - `npm install provenry`; Node.js 22.12+, ES modules, MIT GitHub: https://github.com/sourcey/provenry Docs: https://0state.com/provenry ### mcp-parser Static spec tooling for MCP servers. Snapshot a live MCP server into `mcp.json`, validate the contract, and generate documentation or explicit context exports from the same artifact. - Captures tools, resources, prompts, capabilities, and transport hints - Supports stdio, SSE, and streamable HTTP transports - Validates required fields, duplicate names, schema shape, and documentation warnings - Generates markdown reference by default, plus compact `llms.txt`-style and full-text context exports GitHub: https://github.com/sourcey/mcp-parser Docs: https://0state.com/mcp-parser ### scafld A deterministic protocol for multi-phase agent work. The agent does the work however it likes; scafld decides whether "done" is true and signs the answer. `scafld finalize` snapshots the tree, re-runs acceptance, has a separate model review the canonical diff in a sandbox, and emits an ed25519-signed receipt recording what was reviewed, by which model, against which commit; `scafld verify` re-checks that receipt in CI. "Done" is a signed, re-verifiable receipt, not the agent's claim. The lifecycle (plan, harden, approve, build) is the machinery that produces it. Canonical repo: `nilstate/scafld` on GitHub, with install guidance published from the `main` branch. GitHub: https://github.com/nilstate/scafld Docs: https://0state.com/scafld ### symple Real-time messaging and presence protocol. JSON-based, WebSocket transport (v4), WebRTC call signalling, room-based routing, horizontal scaling via Redis pub/sub. - C++ server and client (icey), JavaScript server and client - Call protocol: init/accept/reject/offer/answer/candidate/hangup - symple-player: browser-side WebRTC player with CallManager GitHub: https://github.com/nilstate/symple Docs: https://0state.com/symple ### moxygen Doxygen XML to Markdown converter. Two-pass parser with deferred reference resolution and pluggable templates. Used to generate icey's API documentation. GitHub: https://github.com/nilstate/moxygen Docs: https://0state.com/moxygen ### pacm C++ package manager for native extensions, model files, and binary assets. Handles delivery, verification, install layout, and extension metadata for runtime binding. GitHub: https://github.com/nilstate/pacm ### graft Native plugin ABI and runtime loader for trusted shared-library extensions. Manifest validation, runtime-kind checks, typed entrypoints. GitHub: https://github.com/nilstate/graft ## Products and projects Product introductions: https://0state.com/projects ### Sourcey A public record of software companies, startup offers, and what agents can actually do with their services. On building businesses, martial arts, and the habit of making rest something you have to earn. - [Someone Still Has to Read It](https://0state.com/someone-still-has-to-read-it): Even good AI-assisted contributions cost somebody time to review and maintain. What curl’s experience reveals about the work on the receiving end. - [Before You Let the Agent Build It](https://0state.com/before-you-let-the-agent-build-it): A detailed plan can make a bad idea look very organised. Why I make coding agents defend the plan, inspect the existing code and prove what they changed. - [Are You Still Paying for Docs?](https://0state.com/are-you-still-paying-for-docs): Beautiful docs are worth caring about. Renting the machinery to publish them is a separate question. What the typesetting upheaval tells us about the next documentation invoice. - [WebRTC in 150 Lines of C++](https://0state.com/webrtc-in-150-lines-of-cpp): A webcam, a browser, and under 150 lines of C++. Follow the frames through capture, encoding, and WebRTC, with the complete Icey application and the build instructions to run it yourself. - [Why Democracy Must Die](https://0state.com/why-democracy-must-die): Put a hundred people in a cave. Would they elect one person to do their thinking? A proposal for governing through public values, open argument and accountable decisions. - [The Agent Problem](https://0state.com/the-agent-problem): We are no longer the only ones using the internet. Agents can spend and make commitments, but someone else lives with the consequences. Who supplies the judgment, the limits, and the liability? - [The Clone Problem](https://0state.com/the-clone-problem): Open ten generated websites and the family resemblance is hard to miss. What gets lost when models learn from models, and why the strange, difficult edges of human work matter. - [Mind and Fascia](https://0state.com/mind-and-fascia): What was Chu Shong Tin trying to teach his students to feel? Nim Lik, fascia, and the gap between copying a movement and developing the internal state that makes it work. - [Engineering the Mind](https://0state.com/engineering-the-mind): Knowing the movements isn’t the same as understanding the art. The same holds for thought: how habit shapes perception, what paradox can teach, and why practice changes the person doing it. - [Conquering the Internet](https://0state.com/conquering-the-internet): Warlords, gold rushes, and the discipline of choosing ground you can hold. Why understanding a problem deeply is a better starting point than chasing the next model release. - [Understanding Psychedelics](https://0state.com/understanding-psychedelics): Shamans, chemists, and the uneasy relationship between direct experience and scientific explanation. What psychedelic states might reveal about the filters through which we ordinarily see the world. ## Contact - GitHub: https://github.com/nilstate - Email: oss@0state.com
